St. Paul's United Methodist Church

Cost: $20 for 1st person -$15 for any additional registrations included in same envelope 

 

Program will feature Dr. Pamela Couture, St. Paul's Seminary, Kansas City.  Her latest book is Child Poverty: Love, Justice, & Social Responsibility.   Recently, the Seminary wrote:    "Pamela Couture has been a passionate, informed, and insightful advocate for placing children and poverty at the top of our ministry agenda.  In this book she shows us the alarming condition of children around the world which is so often invisible even to the church, and the myriad and complex circumstances that create those conditions.  Yet this is a most hopeful book, both recounting the many creative and effective ministries that are occurring, and, even more deeply, directing us to faith in a God who has particular concerns for the most vulnerable among us."  The book will be available for purchase at the Gathering.

 

 Lunch will include a presentation and dialogue with a representative from SRS.  This will be followed by 3 workshops: 

1.  After School "Church"-a program that is more than just custodial care

2.  Community Health Program-meeting the health needs of those living in your community

3.  Children in Crisis-helping children cope with the many losses they face
