A family in the Towanda church had some extensive damage done to their home during the recent bad weather.?During this time the mother had to have emergency open heart surgery. The parents do not have health insurance. The family is in need of financial assistance and as a church we are trying various ways to raise money to help this family out. ? This is where you can help. During the month of July we are asking folks?to collect aluminum cans and deliver them,?{or call? us (316-536-2222) to collect them,} to The Towanda United Methodist Church on August 1st. All funds collected from the cans will be donated to the family. Can your church help us?with this mission project? I sure hope so. ? In this book she shows us the alarming condition of children around the world which is so often invisible even to the church, and the myriad and complex circumstances that create those conditions. Yet this is a most hopeful book, both recounting the many creative and effective ministries that are occurring, and, even more deeply, directing us to faith in a God who has particular concerns for the most vulnerable among us." She has undergone health issues over the last several weeks. She has remained inside her home and has not gotten out much, and just today, she had a heart catherization done in Wichita at the Kansas Medical Center. The results were good that her health issues were not caused by her heart. She also had a CT scan of her head and neck. This also was a positive test. We prayed for a good test, and she had one. She is relieved that her problems are not related to her heart. We still have health concern issues and questions. We ask that you will keep her and my family in your prayers that we will find answers to her health needs that can be treated and or healed. I know that God answers prayers, but I also now that when more people pray for the same thing there is strength and comforting in those prayers. Grace and Peace to all of you. Kimmons (Ticia Bennett's father) Message-ID: The funeral for Major John W. Kimmons, father of Rev. Ticia Bennett (Geneseo/Ebenezer UMCs), is Friday at 10:30 a.m. at The Salvation Army Gateway Citadel Corps in St. Louis MO. Ticia says memorials go to the Gateway Citadel Band as Mom and Dad met in the banding program, came to know the Lord while being in the band and attending the Army and Dad played in the band until about 3 years ago when he retired at the age of 79. The Bennett and Kimmons families thank you for your continued prayers.
