To: Kansas Area United Methodists 

The Kansas Area Disaster Fund was established to assist individuals and
communities within the state following a disaster.  In response to the
recent snow storms which affected 44 counties in Western Kansas, numerous
requests for funds to meet emerging needs are anticipated.  

Currently, undesignated reserves in the Kansas Area Disaster Fund are low.
As we continue the long winter and head into the spring storm season, I am
appealing to the Kansas Area Churches for a special offering to be taken
during the month of January.  All received receipts will go into the Kansas
Area Disaster Fund. 

Contributions to the Kansas Area Disaster Fund should be made payable to the
Kansas West Conference.  Be sure to write "Kansas Area Disaster Fund" in the
memo line on the check and mail contributions to the Kansas West Conference,
9440 E. Boston, Suite 110, Wichita, KS 67207-3600. 

Christ is at work through your prayers and financial gifts.  May God bless
our generosity as we join together to respond to the current and future
crises in our state.
