[Kansasumc] Prayer concern

We have just learned of the death this morning of Rev. Duane Bruce
(retired) following several weeks of declining health and chronic
illness. Duane was the Executive Director of the South Central
Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church from 1973 until he retired
from active ministry in 1985. His entire ministry was as an elder of
the Northwest Texas Annual Conference.

There will be two services for Rev. Duane Bruce. The first service will
be at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1406 W. Blodgett, Carlsbad, New
Mexico (505-887-7501) on Wednesday evening, Ap. 18, at 5:00 P.M. After
the service there will be a funeral viewing at Woods-Denton Funeral Home
in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The second funeral service will be at St.
Stephen's United Methodist Church in Mesquite, Texas. That service will
be held Saturday, April 21st. at 4:00 P.M. Burial will follow the
Saturday service. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Beltline
Road in Mesquite, Texas.

Your prayers for the family and friends of Rev. Duane Bruce (ret.) will
be greatly appreciated. Your personal notes of comfort may be mailed to

Dan is pastor of Epworth UMC in Carlsbad,NM, in the NM Annual
Conference.
